Pixies Fox Theater Doolittle Presale On Thursday At 10 AM

Well, we're not gonna tell you it's an easy choice, but everyone needs to priortize: at the same time that Bob Dylan tickets go presale tomorrow morning, so do tickets for the Fox Theater Pixies shows on November 8th and 9th. Yeah Yeah Yeahs Fox Theater Presale This Morning At Ten

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are out and about supporting their latest, It's Blitz!, and that includes two nights at Oakland's Fox Theater on September 9th and 10th. Granted, the venue is general admission, so snagging a spot on the floor probably won't be that much of a challenge. Still, there's no reason not to take advantage of a presale when it falls in your lap, and this morning it's done just that.

Underworld Coming To Fox Theater In August, Presale Tomorrow At 10 AM

It's been a while since HAD last caught up with Underworld, but that doesn't change the fact that they deliver a killer live show that left us reeling a couple of years back. The duo are returning to San Francisco this August, with a show at the Fox Theater on Friday the 7th. We highly suggest you check out the gig, for which you can snag tickets in a presale Wednesday morning at 10. The password is "volpe".

Sonic Youth Fox Theater Presale On Friday

On Monday, we mentioned Sonic Youth's forthcoming record the eternal, and subsequent August 2nd show at The Fox Theater in Oakland. Well now word has come over the wire that Another Planet Entertainment will be offering up a presale for the show this Friday. Starting at 10 AM, they're going to release a limited number of tickets to the gig - the password is "eternal". Happy Hunting!

Sonic Youth Ramps Up For Album Release And Summer Tour, Fox Theater In August

This summer Sonic Youth is getting ready for a deluge of activity, all surrounding their first studio record in three years, the eternal. The record is the band's first since their signing to Matador Records, and as such has managed to garner the "Buy Early Get Now" treatment that the label has gotten rolling over the past few years. In addition to the usual early access/bonus tracks excitement, this BEGN promotion also includes a live exclusive vinyl release, and the ability to snag presale tickets for the band's summer tour.

The tour itself spans just over a month, and manages to touch down in just about every corner of the US. This includes the final night of the tour, which will be a stop in Oakland at the Fox Theater on August 2nd. The tour will no doubt feature heavily from the new record, and while we haven't heard the whole thing, we like what we've gotten a taste of.

Matador's released "Sacred Trickster" to the internets, and to our ears it's quite at home in Sonic Youth's extensive catalog of hard rocking dischord. That being said, it's also a pretty nicely accessible track - we'd almost say it's reminiscent of Dirty in it's straight ahead rock sensibility. Clocking in at just over two minutes, it's a solid dose of Kim Gordon fronted chunky riffage. Check it out for yourself below.

The Shins Mount Spring Tour, Fox Theater In May, Presale Tomorrow

We have to admit, 2007's Wincing The Night Away left us a little cold. Given that The Shins' first two records were some of our favorites of the past ten years, we were surprised when their third didn't really grab hold, and sort of disappeared to the back of our playlist.

That being said, the band is certainly one of our faves (their first two records are amazing), so we're psyched to see that after an extended hiatus (and some side project work) the band is back in full swing and touring this spring. For those of you in the Bay Area, that means a May 9th show at Oakland's Fox Theater, with a presale that starts tomorrow morning at 10. Apparently the presale requires no password, just a click on the link.

It'll be interesting to see what the band has in store for the tour: we're guessing new material must be imminent, given their almost two years without a record. Then again, perhaps they're just getting things back on track and getting their touring chops up to snuff. Either way, The Shins put on a fantastic (if not a tad goofy) live show, so this should prove to be a treat.

TV On The Radio Mount Spring Tour, Fox Theater Presale Friday At 10

We here at HAD have been giving TV On The Radio a lot of love in the last year, and with good reason: their latest record Dear Science, is amazing, and their live show is equally delicious. As such, we couldn't be more psyched to see that the band is ramping up to a late Spring/early Summer tour, culminating with Bonnaroo in mid-June.

The tour will cross the entire country, but appears to be all over the map: the band will make a few stops down south, then hit the west coast, then cross the continent via Canada, winding up back at home on the east coast to wrap up the tour. For you Bay Area folk, this means a May 22nd stop at the Fox Theater, with a presale Friday morning at 10. The password is "510". Good luck!

Seal Coming To Fox Theater, Presale Begins At 10

We here at HAD, despite the "Kiss From A Rose" haters, make no secret that we're huge fans of Seal. We've dug the guy since day one: he has a fantastic set of pipes, and he manages to exist firmly in his own genre while at the same time riding somewhere near the mainstream. Granted, we didn't love his last self composed record System all that much, but we're definitely liking his motown covers record Soul quite a bit.

Point being, Seal is touring in support of Soul, and is bringing the show to the Fox Theater in Oakland on May 5th. There's a presale beginning, well, now, so head on over and see what you can come up with. The password is "510".

M. Ward Extends Tour, Adds May Date At Fox Theater

If you missed out on tickets for M. Ward's show at the Palace Of Fine Arts theater in March, fear not: Ward has extended his tour, and added a date on May 16th at the newly renovated Fox Theater in Oakland.

In fact, following his performance at the Coachella festival, Ward has added a host of dates on the West coast (and a few in the midwest), culminating in another festival appearance at Sasquatch at the end of May. Other Bay Area stops include Davis and Visalia.

Okay, we'll be frank with you: we like a couple Bloc Party tunes, but after seeing them with Broken Social Scene a few years back, we just aren't really feeling their live show. That being said, we're certainly not one to judge, or have people miss out on tickets.

We last heard from the boys of Modest Mouse, they were opening for REM at the Greek Theater last spring. Well, here we are almost a year later and it looks as though the band is reinstating their role as headliner. Modest Mouse will be playing a headlining tour in February and March which will span from California to Florida, and will be making an opening-night Bay Area stop at the newly renovated Fox Theater in Oakland. Animal Collective Tour, Playing Oakland And Big Sur

Okay, we've got this to say: blogosphere, calm down. Yes, the new Animal Collective record is good (more on that in another post), but it's the second week in January. Declaring this the "year of Animal Collective" seems a little, urm, premature, no?

That being said, we love them dudes, and we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that they've decided to tour in support of the widely loved Merriweather Post Pavillion. The tour spans six months, and finds the band in Europe, Canada, and the US.

For their stop in the Bay, they've decided to take on two smaller venues, rather than one giant SF lovefest. Specifically, they'll be playing the newly renovated Fox Theater in Oakland, and the Henry Miller library in Big Sur. We're guessing the Oakland show will be the go-to for most Bay area folk; ticket onsale isn't listed yet on ticketmaster, so keep your eyes open and we'll do the same.

Band Of Horses Lines Up California Shows Including Fox Theater, Presale Tomorrow

Seattleites Band Of Horses have been off the radar a tad since 2007's Cease To Begin (apparently recording a new record down in Muscle Shoals, AL), but now it appears as though they're lining up to get the ball rolling again. The band has booked two California dates for April, one at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, and one at the newly renovated Fox Theater in Oakland.

To be frank, after seeing the Fox's opening lineup, we were a tad worried that it was going to exclusively host reggae and jam bands (not that that's a bad thing). However, it seems that they're getting on top of the good old fashioned rock and roll. We definitely approve.

We're not really which show to recommend to you here: we're amped to see the newly renovated Fox, but at the same time we're always psyched for the Catalyst's small club vibe. Regardless of which you decide on, you'll need to get tickets. The Catalyst show isn't listed for sale yet, but the Fox Theater show will be having a presale tomorrow morning at 10 AM. Another Planet Entertainment Reopens The Fox Theatre In Oakland

Well, if you felt the Easy Bay was sorely lacking in midsize concert venues, you're about to get your fill: Another Planet Entertainment has renovated and reopened The Fox Theater as a Warfield-sized music venue in Uptown Oakland. We have to say we're curious how this will pan out, but judging by Oakland's hipster-cache, and APE's variety of musical inroads, we're guessing it could become 2009's hot alternative to The Fillmore. The initial artist lineup will be announced on January 5th (with an opening gala on February 5th), so in the meantime you'll have to busy yourself by looking at pretty renovation pictures over at the official site. Looks pretty awesome, folks. Neat-o.
