Mercury Rev: New Records, To Play Two Nights At The Independent

It's been a while since we've heard anything from psychedelic dream rockers Mercury Rev, so we were a bit surprised to see that they have two shows scheduled at the Independent on December 17th and 18th. Well, turns out we just weren't paying close enough attention: The band has a new record that drops on September 30th called Snowflake Midnight. What's more, they're releasing a free, "companion record"(apparently all instrumental) entitled Strange Attractor which will be downloadable from the band's website in exchange for your email details. All in all, it sounds like the band is entering a pretty prolific phase, and we're excited to hear just what these two new records sound like. The album lyrics and many reviews (quite complimentary, we might add) are already on the band's site, along with an apparent theme of....cats and bunnies? We'll have to wait and see. In the meantime you can grab one of our faves off the last record below.

Tickets for the Independent gig go on sale this Sunday.
