U2 Letterman Residency, Day 3: "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight"

U2 continued their week of residency last night on Letterman with "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight", another track from their new record No Line On The Horizon. To be perfectly frank, we were kind of expecting something a little more, well, crazy. On top of that, Bono's vocal line on this tune almost seems like a throwaway: something he just dreamed up on the fly. That being said, apparently he did just dream up the melody for "One" on the fly, so maybe that's not a bad thing.

Still, this performance left us feeling a little "eh". So far the winner for the week in our book is definitely still "Breathe", from day one. We'll be taking bets on if a "classic" is going to show up on the week's playlist. We're guessing two tracks on Friday, one of them being from the back catalog.

Also worth mentioning: we've been posting these YouTube vids, but watching these appearances on a legitimately sized TV in HD is really, way, way more rewarding. The sound is better, the video's better, and the whole experience is conveyed in a way more meaningful way. Just sayin'.
