Dark Was The Night Goes Live, Presale On Now

We've been digging the latest Red Hot compilation Dark Was The Night for the past couple of months, and it appears that we're not alone. Apparently the record has garnered such a positive reaction that some of the artists involved have decided to ramp up to a live show highlighting the record at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday May 3rd.

Currently the lineup consists of The National, Dave Sitek, Dirty Projectors, Feist, My Brightest Diamond, and Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings. While many of the records heaviest hitters appear to be absent, there is the conspicuous mention that "more to be announced in the coming weeks.". If we had to make a guess of New York bands that seem likely to show up, we'd definitely throw David Byrne, Grizzly Bear, Yo La Tengo and Antony on the list. Keep in mind, that's just a guess.

Regardless, if the lineup looks enticing to you, it's time to get out there and get tickets! There's a presale going on now (password: "badger"), and a full onsale Friday morning at 11. Good luck!

I just picked it up yesterday, it's great!

I got an email about that show and was saddened that I don't live in NY. but that tends to happen a lot.
