Dan Auerbach Is At Bimbo's On Friday, Black Keys At The Fox Theater In April

It's been a while since we last checked in with The Black Keys, but it appears as though things have been chugging along nicely: frontman Dan Auerbach has put out a solo record, and has been out touring on its behalf. What's more, the Black Keys have released a cover of Captain Beefheart's "Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles", and will be getting touring as soon as Auerbach lets up with his solo act.

The Auerbach record is refreshingly different from The Black Keys material: it has a much more folk/country/pop feel, and abandons much of the Keys' heart-on-sleeve blues influence. It also does an extremely solid job at showcasing Auerbach's songwriting skills, and offering up a fair bit more depth. We've been enjoying it quite a bit, and we're looking forward to hearing it live.

For his tour, Auerbach has enlisted some similarly minded folk in the form of retro-rockers Hacienda and pop-country girl trio Those Darlins. All three are on tour now through the middle of April, hitting up the west coast, south by southwest, and then jumping over to Australia. They'll be at Bimbo's this Friday night - tickets are sold out, so you'll have to consult the internets for your needs.

If you miss out, Auerbach will be back in April when the Keys start out a Spring tour of their own: They'll be at The Fox Theater on April 18th just after Coachella. Either way, all the pieces are in place to get your solid dose of Auerbach this
