Belle & Sebastian Mount Fall US Tour

It's been quite a while (Coachella 2004, to be exact) since we last saw Belle & Sebastian. Nevertheless, given that we've seen them quite a few times, we can assure you of this: they put on a hell of a live show. In fact, frankly, one of the best we've ever seen. Which is why we were so delighted to discover that the Scottish twee masters are mounting a fall tour of the US.

While details are still spotty, they are coming together and, at least in New York, are extremely definite: The band will be playing Williamsburg Waterfront on September 30th. It is a paid show, and tickets are going to be available through Ticketmaster. Bummer? Yes. But, to make you feel better: a presale starts Thursday morning right here, and the password is "banchory".

The other US dates take place in October and, while not extensive, do cover most "major" markets - you can check out the dates below. San Francisco is apparently still in the works, as the band is promising a venue announcement in July (Greek Theater? Please?).

Regardless of whether you think you like B&S, we will tell you this: we were skeptics who begrudgingly joined a girlfriend at a 2002 show (a later girlfriend stole our awesome tee from said show), and were ever after converts. The band are fantastic live, and on top of that, their live show really serves to underscore the awesomeness of their records. Get out there.

Q.I see that your San Francisco date coincides with a music festival named after a Robert Louis Stevenson novel. Coincidence?
