Stephen Malkmus To Play Big Sur In July

If you happen to love Stephen Malkmus as much as we do (which is to say, a lot), then you will be quite pleased to learn that The Jicks frontman will be joined by his band for a one-off performance in Big Sur on July 24th. The event will be held at the Henry Miller Library, and is apparently part of an even entitled "folkYeah!". We have no idea either.

What we do know is that this will no doubt be a killer show, and a great way to spend your last Friday in July. Tickets are on sale now.

So "Folk Yeah" is an organization based out of Berkeley that is sponsoring all of the Henry Miller Library events, and I believe the proceeds go directly to the library itself. Considering the size of the joint (a small makeshift stage and seating in the form of lawn/deck space), its nothing short of amazing that they're pulling these line-ups: Stephen Malkmus, Animal Collective, and even Bonny Prince Billy last year. Its bound to be an intimate show...
